This was despite of her bitter divorce battle. Angelina claimed that she was in financial straits and demanded more financial assistance from Brad Pitt. According to court documents, Pitt gave $8 million to Jolie for a down payment towards the Cecil B. Demille home. She didn't have the funds. It's probable that Angelina has lots of money in the form of trusts and investment accounts. Jolie and Pitt agreed that they didn't need a prenup as both had net worths in more than $100 million at the time they got married in 2014. Jolie is currently asking where she got her money. One possible explanation is that she didn't want to sell her assets to buy an apartment when she knew that Pitt would almost certainly be obliged to supply her with the funds.
