It is an U.S. Department of Defense Dependent High School. In the summer between his junior and senior year of high school, his father returned him to Houston to stay with his uncle Art, a former NFL player, so that he could play football in the autumn semester. This allowed Strahan to get an NFL scholarship from Texas Southern University.
