Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character on ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington in Ohio, left high school and moved to Los Angeles after her divorced parents. Her first role came to her as Rachel's Room's main character in 2001 despite struggling financially. In 2002, she was awarded an Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role of Murder on the streets of Greenwich of a 15-year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to take home the award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) with her. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. Grace has been as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character as Shannon in Lost for two episodes, which included the series final. In 2013, Grace appears in Californianation, the 6th season. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also a muse to the stars that catches the attention of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She's the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit younger in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films starring her father as an adolescent. Along with her brother, she appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606), both of which earned their Golden Globe Award nods. The actress gained more attention when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercials she appeared in during 2006. In recognition of her role as the single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee and in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Gyllenhaal began her career as director, screenwriter and script writer when she wrote and directed the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
